STC | Salvation Army Back to School Drive | July 7 - July 21

  • Midtown Fellowship: Lexington (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Year-round, the Salvation Army works to provide for those in need. One of the many ways they help is by providing school supplies to families that can not afford them. As a church family, this is a great way to give generously as Christ has given generously to us and help kids in our local community start the school year off well!

Donating is easy and convenient. Please drop any of these items before or after the Gathering in the lobby starting Sunday July 7 through Sunday July 21.

If you have any questions, please email Liza Hendricks. Your participation is greatly appreciated!

Specifically, they have requested the items below:

Serve the City | School Supplies Drive

  • Midtown Fellowship: Lexington (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

We will host our School Supplies Drive at our Lexington church from July 24 to August 7. Our School Supplies Drive is in support of our Serve the City partner at the Department of Social Services, who provides support to foster children throughout Columbia.

Supply lists and cards can be picked up on July 24 before or after The Gathering and supplies can be dropped off on July 31 and August 7.

The start of the school year can be exciting, the return to school can cause anxiety for kids who do not have the supplies that they need. This supplies drive aims to ease the back to school burden for some of the most vulnerable children and teenagers in the Midlands by providing necessities to kids in our state foster system.

STC - DSS Parents Night Out

STC - DSS Aug 3 Web.jpg

We will host our DSS Parents Night Out for our Lexington Church on August 3.

DSS Parents Night Out is a night for parents to drop off their kids in a safe and fun environment and for them to get some time to themselves for a date night, to do chores without kids or to just get a chance to breathe for parents of foster children. It will consist of watching and playing with kids and will last from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.

We are doing this to serve foster families within our community. There is always a need for parents to get alone and spend time together away from their foster children and their biological children as well.
