We will host a Personal Finance Seminar for our Family of Churches on January 25 from 9a-12p at our Downtown Students Building at 1819 Taylor St. Our Personal Finance Seminar is designed to equip our church family to be spiritually healthy by stewarding the financial resources that God has entrusted to us. The class focuses on the basic building blocks of budgeting, paying off debt, investing, and generosity.

Light snacks will be provided. Childcare will not be provided.

Midtown Students is going to camp! We are packing our teens in 15-passenger vans and heading to Centrifuge in Black Mountain, NC. Students who have completed 6th grade through graduated seniors will combine for a next level camp experience at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains. Camp will take place June 15th through the 19th. Hosted by Lifeway Students, centrifuge is designed to take students out of their normal routine and place them into an environment that is focused on life-change through relationship with Christ. Lifeline | Adoption Information Meeting

We are hosting an adoption information meeting at our Lexington church on Friday, December 13 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  The meeting will be led by Lifeline Children’s Services, and will cover various adoption paths, including domestic infant adoption and international adoption. The Lifeline team will walk you through the steps, answer your questions, and provide guidance on how you can begin or continue your adoption journey. Whether you are just starting to explore your options or are further along in the process, this meeting is designed to provide you with the information and support you need.

Jingle Jams is not just an opportunity for parents to have some time off, but also a chance for kids to have a blast! They can come in their pajamas and enjoy an afternoon filled with Christmas-themed crafts, games, and a Christmas movie. Of course, we will have hot chocolate too!

Enjoy some time off while your child is being cared for by background checked and well trained childcare workers. Not to mention having a tree-mendous time with their friends!

STC | Ezekiel Ministries Thanksgiving Meal

Ezekiel Ministries works to provide mentorship for kids from hard places and backgrounds in our area.

On Monday, November 4, we will partner with Ezekiel Ministries to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner to their Lexington mentees and families. We are in need of volunteers to help provide and sponsor side dishes. 

Volunteers should bring prepared dishes in disposable containers by 5:00pm to RADIUS Lexington at 300 W Main St.

We’re so excited for our 3rd annual Trunk-or-Treat Chili / Cookoff! This year the event will be held at the Icehouse Amphitheater Pavilion in Lexington. Midtown Students: Lexington is taking our 6th-12th graders to Clinton Sease Farms on Saturday, October 12th from 2-5 PM. Registration is $15 a student. Support Daybreak on Saturday, October 12 at Saluda Shoals Park for a fun, family-centered 5K! Registration will begin at 8:00 am, and the walk/run will start at 9:00 am

Registration is $40 for adults, and kids 12 and under are $20 (kids three and under are free). A T-shirt is included if registered by October 4.

Recovery | October 7

Recovery is a group that meets in a 10-week cycle to help people achieve freedom and healing from seemingly unbeatable issues in their lives. We meet on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in our Barnwell Building at 1614 Barnwell Street. We gather for a short time of worship and teaching; then, we break up into gender-specific small groups for discussion, encouragement, and prayer.

Recovery is for anyone facing a battle in their life—personal sin struggles, dealing with emotional scars, or any other issue. It's a safe, family environment where you can come and deal honestly and openly with your struggles and let Jesus begin to heal and free you amid biblical family.

Lexington | Family Baptism Class

We will host our Family Baptism Class for our Lexington church on September 29 immediately following the 11 am Gathering. The Family Baptism Class is a class that is designed for children and preteens to take alongside their parents. Lunch will be provided. The class will last about an hour, with time for questions afterward. Childcare for younger siblings will be available. As the children of our church grow physically and in their faith, we want to provide opportunities for them to take their next steps. It can be hard to know when is the right time to allow your child to be baptized. We have developed some tools to help facilitate understanding and discussion as a family to know if baptism is the right step for your child.

Our Family of Churches is hosting a Students Rhythm to Carowinds on September 7th. The Rhythm is an all day event for middle and high school students to experience the best rollercoasters the Carolinas have to offer! Registration for this event is $50 and will cover the cost of admission to the park and transportation. Students should plan to bring additional money for meals or sign up for a meal plan during registration. The deadline to register for Carowinds is September 2nd. Drop-off and pick-up will be at Midtown Downtown’s Student Warehouse. Students will depart the church campus at 8:15am and return around 9pm.

Midtown Students is excited to host an FOC River Float Trip for our High School Students! This event is for all students in 9th - 12th grade. Together, we will float the Saluda River from the Saluda Riverwalk to the West Columbia Riverwalk Park & Amphitheater. Afterwards, we will enjoy a picnic at the West Cola Riverwalk. Drop-off: 3pm. Pick-up: 7PM

Drop-off for this event will take place at the Saluda Riverwalk (650 Candi Lane Columbia, SC 29210) and Pick-up is at the West Columbia Riverwalk (121 Alexander Street West Columbia, SC 29169). High schoolers who park their cars at Saluda will be transported back by adult volunteers.

Family Fun Day at Bethel Retreat

As part of our annual Kickoff Weekend, on Saturday, August 17, we will host a day of fun out at Bethel Retreat Center along with our Family of Churches! It's a day all about family, fun and relaxation.

10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

We will have a shaded games area, archery, a climbing wall, and the waterfront (with a blob!). No childcare, as families will participate together. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie burgers provided; please bring a dessert to share.

Cost
Because of the fun and food provided, we are asking every adult to pay $5 to offset the cost. If unable to pay, please don't let that be a barrier for attending; email Tiffany at tcoker@midtowncolumbia.com.

Prayer Meeting

On Friday, August 16th, we will kickoff the fall together at the Prayer Meeting from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm.

As we embark on a new season as a church family, it is essential to acknowledge our dependence on God's guidance and power. During this service, we will pray and sing as we earnestly seek the presence of the Lord, asking Him to bring His Kingdom here in Lexington as it is in Heaven.

Childcare will be available at 6:15pm for children ages 3rd Grade and under. Please note that spaces are limited. We want as many folks as possible to participate, so if you already have an easy childcare option, please consider it first to free up spots for any families who don’t.

Family Fun Night @ the Fireflies Game

We will host a Family Fun Night at Segra Park for our Lexington Families on July 25 at 6pm. The theme will be Christmas in July! Family Fun Night is a community event for kids and parents to enjoy our local minor league baseball team.

Here are a couple of important notes:

  • Kids are invited to play catch on the field at 6:45pm, 20 minutes before the first pitch at 7:05pm. The game should last around 3 hours.

  • We will sit together in a block of reserved seats.

  • The cost is $10 per adult with free admission for kids.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship with other Midtown families as well as invite new families to join our community! The registration for this event will close on Monday July 22, 2024.

Kids will have fun connecting with other friends and learning all about God's goodness. KIDSWEEK is available for kids 3 years old through 3rd grade, with opportunities for preteens and students to serve. Childcare for children under 3 is available for volunteers.

Midtown Students is excited to host an FOC Lake Day for our Middle School Students! This event is for all students entering 6th grade in August - those entering 8th grade. A family in our church has graciously opened up their lake house, where we will be grilling out, boating, tubing, swimming, and doing lots more fun activities!

Drop-off & Pick-up for this event will take place at the Lexington Church. Drop-off from 8:45 - 9 AM. Pick-up is at 5PM. All students will be carpooling with DMV background checked drivers. We are unable to accommodate late drop-off or early pick-up at the lake house.

The cost of registration is $5
. Lunch will be provided for students.

Year-round, the Salvation Army works to provide for those in need. One of the many ways they help is by providing school supplies to families that can not afford them. As a church family, this is a great way to give generously as Christ has given generously to us and help kids in our local community start the school year off well! 

Donating is easy and convenient. Please drop any of these items before or after the Gathering in the lobby starting Sunday July 7 through Sunday July 21.

Midtown Students is excited to host a Nerf War for our Middle School Students! This event is for all students entering 6th grade - those entering 8th grade in August. Hosted at the Midtown Downtown Offices and Students Building, we will have an afternoon full of high-adrenaline games from 3-5PM. Nerf guns will be provided for students.

Carpooling will be available from the Lexington Church Building. To carpool, students must sign up by June 26th at noon.

If you're engaged or married, we invite you to the Marriage Seminar on Friday, June 28, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 29, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm in the Students building. This seminar will help grow our church family in their marriages and relationships. We will provide a Friday night meal from Tazikis, wine, and snacks. On Saturday morning we'll have breakfast snacks and drinks. 

Due to the nature of the event, spots are limited, making this an exclusive opportunity for you and your spouse. Please note that childcare will not be provided.

To cover the cost of the event, a $25 registration fee for each couple who attends or a $15 registration fee for each individual who attends without their spouse will be charged.

Wealth Management Cohort | June 23

As a step beyond our Personal Finance Seminar, we are hosting an inaugural Wealth Management Cohort. This will be a group of people who meet for a book study and discussion of how to steward wealth and resources in a Godly way. This cohort is experimental in nature as we seek to learn together, and is designed for those who are diligent budgeters and relatively financially proficient, while grappling with how best to manage the resources God has entrusted them with. The group will meet on Sunday evenings at our Lexington building during the summer (4-6 meetings) and will be led by a Midtown Lexington Missionary Member.

Start date is June 23.

Light snacks and childcare will be provided. There will be a “Book Only” option (single or couple), as well as a “Book + Childcare” option (single or couple).
