Worship Guide
MAY 17th, 2020
Use this guide as a script. If possible, ask for a volunteer, roommate, or virtual participant to read the parts aloud. There are links to the songs to play and sing along with or sing them a cappella. We want this to be a helpful guide for you and your community to participate together, worshipping the Lord.
We invite you to stand as you sing, to help position yourself to be engaged and focused as you participate in the gathering of God’s people.

CALL TO WORSHIP
Have someone read this scripture aloud to begin:
Romans 8:14-17
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Let’s sing, celebrate, and thank God for the fact that we have been adopted into His family as sons and daughters, brothers and sisters.
SONGS
Practice
Pray aloud together.
We learned earlier in our 1 Timothy study of the power of prayer and how God uses it to bring about His purposes in the world. Take 30 seconds to 1 minute to pray for God’s kingdom to come into the world. You can pray for the healing of someone who is sick, a neighbor or friend to come to know Jesus, and anything in between. If you are gathering with more than one person, give multiple people an opportunity to pray.
SERMON
BENEDICTION
Read this aloud together:
Creator and Mighty God, you have promised strength for the weak, rest for the laborers, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.
Creator and Mighty God, help us to continue in your promise. Amen.
